About the St. Pete Pride Event

The purpose of St. Pete Pride is to promote unity, visibility, self-esteem and positive images within the LGBT community. With thousands upon thousands of participants and counting, it has grown to become one of the Gulf Coast’s most highly anticipated events! The 3-day festival will take place June 23rd-25th and bring together an entire community of people who support equality for all. You’ll find couples, friends, and families celebrating together and indulging in all of the fun that the event has to offer.

A block party is held in the Grand Central District just west of Downtown St. Petersburg along with an exciting benefit concert. However, the most popular event of the entire weekend is the St. Petersburg Pride Parade! As soon as the sun dips below the horizon, the streets of St. Petersburg come alive with bright lights, vibrant colors, grand floats, and of course, lots and lots of beads. Trust us, you don’t want to miss a moment of this nighttime spectacular!

St. Pete Parade 2017 Changes

Although the parade is usually staged between 31st St. and 3rd Ave., this site is slated for change by the organization’s board of directors. With the growing number of visitors, the decision will be made to provide only the best experience for attendees. The new site for the St. Pete Pride Festival will be in Vinoy Park and Downtown St. Petersburg. This extra space will ensure more gathering space, close proximity to restaurants, and new staging opportunities.

With the change, you can expect to find the Friday night event in the Grand Central District, the St. Petersburg Pride Parade along Bayshore Drive, and the Sunday Festival in Vinoy Park.
