Gulfport FL is One of the Most Gay Friendly Towns in Florida

St. Petersburg Pride Parade and Street Festival

  • On Saturday, June 24, 2017, St. Pete will host their annual pride parade. The parade lasts from 7 p.m. through 11 p.m., and features more than 4,500 marchers and draws a total of over 200,000 visitors. This is the largest LGBT parade in Florida, and the largest parade (of any sort) in St. Petersburg. Organizers ask that you leave at home all alcohol, inline skates, laser pointers, radios, skateboards/scooters, fireworks, weapons, and pets.
  • On Sunday, June 25, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the city will host a street festival. Specifics haven’t been announced quite yet, but it’s sure to include hours of live performances and entertainment, community booths, art, and fantastic food — all in a gorgeous setting.

LQBTQ Film Series: The LGBTQ Resource Center at the Gulfport Public Library hosts a monthly LGBTQ Film Series. These film nights take place on the second Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Other Fun Activities

Gulfport and St. Pete boast quite a few natural and artistic sites. Whether you’re looking for a beautiful stroll, an amazing art experience, or even a great drinking or dining spot, Gulfport/St. Pete has a place for you!


If you’re looking to get some exercise, you have quite a few options available. Why not stroll through the protected environs of the Boca Ciega Bay Aquatic Preserve or the Boyd Hill Nature Preserve and view some of Florida’s majestic wildlife? If you prefer two-wheeled adventures, take a ride down the 38.2 mile Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail. The water-lovers among you might opt for a day of snorkeling or scuba diving in the beautiful green waters around St. Pete.


Gulfport plays host to a number of truly phenomenal galleries. The most famous is the Dali Museum, which is home the largest collection of Dali’s works outside of his hometown in Spain. Those of you interested in ornate blown glass sculptures, take a visit to the Chihuly Collection for some truly jawdropping pieces!
