Part of being an older historic building is our history. Not only does the building itself reflect that but also the individual quirky elements. One of these elements is out elevator!
After World War II, the Historic Peninsula Inn operated as the Cedar’s Hospital for injured veterans that were returning from the war. In order to transport the patients between the floors an elevator was installed. The main goal of installing it was to allow the residents to sit on the beautiful veranda to enjoy the benefits of some fresh air.
So when you come and stay at the Inn make sure that you take at least one ride in our elevator. We have a small couch for lounging during travel and a little companion under the seat. Make sure you take a look at our golden antilop before you enter the elevator.
